So I think it must be a good omen that perhaps the least technically savvy member of the WCM crew is writing our opening blog.

In fact, of course it IS, because it’s one of the first outward signs of “new brooms”, in other words, my transition, or simply “the future”. But more informatively and with great pleasure, this is to introduce you, dear readers, to WCM’s new Co-Artistic Directors Caroline Stinson and Andrew Waggoner.

I sit here writing, even using a new font – new to me that is – already feeling a lightness about my shoulders and with a very pleasing sense of curiosity at this changed world. To be able in the 20th year to hand over this organization to splendid, creative musicians feels like an adventure, so I guess I’m inviting you to join in for the ride.

I’ll be writing on and off and perhaps comment on our other bloggers’ blogs…….and I hope you’ll be commenting on them all. It’s no good, that word “blog” still reminds me of “clod” and “plod”………
