Alex Ganes is a recent graduate of Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music with a degree in Music Composition. He has studied with Andrew Waggoner, Nicholas Scherzinger, Daniel Godfrey, Philippe Manoury, and Herbert Deutsch. In his time at school he composed a variety of pieces ranging from those for small chamber ensembles to full orchestral works. For the past two years, he has been the recipient of the Brian Israel Award for outstanding student composer and has earned the title of University Scholar for his intensive work with the Crouse Chimes. Currently Alex is pursuing his band full-time with intentions of returning to graduate school for composition in the future. Using his knowledge of commercial composition and the music business, he has leveraged his music on many radio stations across the country in addition to earning synchronizations of his music on national television.
