A feast for all senses is the bill of fare for WCM’s annual fundraising event at a lovely country home in Bethel. The evening begins with a scrumptious buffet al fresco supper served as guests meet & mingle over wine & the expertly prepared gourmet culinary creations.
A twilight stroll to the renovated barn follows, for a feast for the ears when cellist Nina Lee of the acclaimed Brentano Quartet & celebrated artists pianist Ken Hamrick & flutist Judith Pearce present an delicious musical menu.
The program is planned around the fortepiano, the transitional keyboard between the baroque harpsichord & the modern piano. In between Bach’s E major Flute Sonata & Pleyel’s “Grand Trio,” the audience will hear exquisite piano nocturnes by John Field, plus cello & flute solos by Bach & Peter Maxwell Davies, who wrote “The Kestrel Paced Around the Sun” for Judith Pearce in the late ‘70s.
Then it’s back to the candlelit terrace for desserts & coffee, a romantic ending to an intimate evening! Reservations are necessary for this private, elegant fundraiser, & directions will be given when you call.
