Monticello High School Chamber Musicians Perform

Musicians from the Weekend of Chamber Music and music students in grades 9 to 12 at Monticello High School have teamed up to prepare for the upcoming concert at 7:30 p.m. May 15 in the school’s new band room.

WCM marks its 10th anniversary in Sullivan County this year and has expanded its coaching and outreach activities to celebrate. This year all thirty-seven students who participate in the chamber music ensembles at the school will perform on the shared program with the WCM pros. The student ensembles range in size from duo to quintet, and they’ve been polishing and perfecting their musical skills with their coaches since October.

The program features 10 student ensembles in various selections, and the WCM musicians, led by Judith Pearce, perform works by Telemann, Clarke and Rachmaninoff, plus a chamber music improv session. The school is located at 39 Breakey Ave., Monticello.

Admission is $10, free for students 18 and under. For information or tickets, call WCM at 845-932-8414 or 845-932-8527. Information is also available online at www.wcmconcerts.org.
